*Have decided to try posting to both but please still frequent my Tumblr. as I will post on it the majority of the time.

February Beauty Favorites plus $10 Nars Orgasm Dupe!!

February Beauty Favorites
I’ve been reaching for these two eyeshadows a lot. Almond is a great crease color with a ton of different looks and Chrystalline is a good go to highlight shade. I really am loving the Mary Kay Mineral eyeshadows.
Color Me Coral lipstick is one of the colors from their new line called True Dimensions. SUPER creamy and moisturizing lipsticks. I am in LOVE with them, but I especially love this color with the Revlon Peach Petal gloss over the top. Really pretty look.
Of course, you all know I love my EOS balm. This one is in Honeydew. Love love it.
Clear Shampoo & Conditioner leave my hair smelling amazing! I just grabbed it while in CVS because I was out of my Healthy Sexy kind and I surprisingly really like it.
The Pixi Flawless & Poreless primer came in my February Ipsy Bag and I really love the texture of it and the way it feels on my skin. It’s thicker than your typical primer and feels almost like a thicker moisturizer yet it doesn’t leave my face feeling greasy. Liking it a lot lately.
Versace Bright Crystal is just a really nice clean scent that I love and just recently got.
You all know I am picky picky picky about my mascaras. I’ve been looking for that perfect one and up until now it was a toss up between Physicians Formula Jumbo Lash and my Lash Blast Volume in the orange tube. Then, I tried the Lash Love Mascara and I LOVE IT! However, I don’t love it quite as much on it’s own but I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it with the Mary Kay Lash Primer! Perfect duo. For long thick black lashes! Definitely worth a try if you’re looking for a good mascara!
Last but not least a $10 that’s right, TEN DOLLAR Nars Orgasm Blush DUPE! It’s Mary Kay Shy Blush and it is a great color for all skin tones! I mean why buy the Nars blush for $29 when you can get this one for $10?! Love it. Here is a swatch I found online comparing the two!

December Faves!

20130102-211633.jpg

Yay it’s that time again for a monthly favorites post! I did forget a couple things in the picture which is my beloved eos Lip Balm and my Mary Kay Satin Lips set. I have a blog review on both of those products if you want to know more about why I love them. Now, on to what is pictured…

elf HD Powder – eyeslipsface.com
This is a super light powder that is perfect for setting makeup. I use the fluff pad that came with it and dab it all over my face to set my foundation. I have the translucent shade which is white. I have heard if you get too crazy with it it can lighten your makeup look some. I am really fair skin toned so I haven’t noticed an issue. I did notice some bigger specks that did not seem as powder but I just got a big fluffy brush and brushed them away.

elf Blush Brush – eyeslipsface.com
I needed a good contouring brush and picked this one up for that reason. It is perfect for contouring. I don’t think it would be as good for blush but that is only my opinion. I like a fluffier bigger brush for blush. For the price this brush has been great!

elf Eye Smudger Brush – eyslipsface.com
This was only a buck! Does the job so I can’t complain!

Neutrogena Healthy Skin Foundation – Walmart $11.97
As I have mentioned several times before, I have really dry skin. Especially during the winter months so I have started using this by itself instead of my Revlon Colorstay. The Healthy Skin is a little more luminous or dewy so it is working better for the cold weather. I also have been applying with mostly my fingers and then blending a little better with a MAC foundation brush for a little fuller coverage. There are only 10 shades so not much of a color choice. Mine is Classic Ivory (yes I’m very pale). I do love this foundation, which is why I have included it in my December Faves but I do feel like it is overpriced for the drugstore, as are a lot of other foundations.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment – $7.94 Walmartw
I have pretty bad dark circles under my eyes and am always looking for a good concealer. I used Mary Kay before and it had always been my favorite but I didn’t have a consultant that I knew to buy from for awhile so haven’t used it in years. I picked this up a few weeks ago after hearing such good reviews about it and I’m glad that I did! I really do love how well it conceals the circles. It comes in 7 different shades, mine is fair but I’m going to also try the “brightening” shade as its more of a peachy tone and will counteract with the bluish tint under my eyes.

NYC Smooth Skin Bronzing Powder in Sunny- Walmart $2.99?
I found mine at Walmart but cannot remember the price. I found it listed on KMarts website for 2.99 and that sounds about right. I picked this up after seeing a lot of people say that it is a dupe for Benefit’s Hoola. There are mixed opinions on that and I can’t really have one since I do not own Benefits Hoola Bronzer but I can say that I like this one. I like it because I can use it for contouring and it does not have any shimmer which a lot of drugstore bronzers tend to have.

DoTerra Hydrating Cream $46
My good friend and fellow Linewife, Jody sent me this and I must say I really like it. I didn’t love the smell at first but I have gotten used to it. It contains essential oils that fight aging and moisturize the skin WITHOUT leaving it feeling oily. I hate moisturizers on my face that feel greasy afterwards. This one soaks right in and leaves my skin feeling moisturized but not greasy or heavy with product. It only takes a little and I especially like this under my makeup because of the lightness of it. If you’re interested in this or other products from DoTerra check Jody’s site: http://www.mydoterra.com/jodysimmer/

MAC Studio Mist Blush in Peach Spritz
I almost didn’t include this because it is discontinued. 😦 They aren’t selling any of the studio mist line anymore. I got this years ago and used it everyday for awhile and then just got it back out last month. I really like it and the color. Sad you can’t get them anymore… I did find it listed on eBay for $50 but I think I’ll just mourn the loss once its empty and move on to something else. 😉

Revlon Illuminance Creme Shadow
This has been another one of those products that I have had for quite sometime but just now started using again. I looked online and these seem to run about $5. I use this under my powder shadows as a good base of color and a lid primer. I got the quad that had the most skin tone shades and I’ve used all of them under different eyeshadow looks. Under the shadows it does not crease or cake up.

Urban Decay Naked Palette Sephora $50
Saved the best for last. I finally got the oh-so-popular Naked Palette. I now see what all the hype was about. LOVE it. Super pigmented, creamy, blendable shadows. There are supposedly several dupes out there for this and color wise I’m sure there is but product wise I doubt it. I really love the formula of Urban Decay shadows. My favorite so far. If I ran out of this I would definitely buy another.

November Faves!

First off welcome to my new blog! I’m excited about getting to blab about makeup and other beauty products. I’m even more excited that so many of you are interested in reading it!

So let’s get right to the meat of this post; what I’ve been loving this month. There are more things than pictured below that I use and love, but these kinds of posts will be about new products I have purchased within that month, or something I have rediscovered (the lotion). I will be working on a separate post soon about my holy grail items that I can’t live without.

NYX Haute Jersey Leopard Couture palette

I have really been loving this palette. It opens like a book and on the first page you get 24 eyeshadows. There are two sponge applicators but they’re crap. I don’t dislike sponge applicators but these seem cheap. Not the case with the rest of the contents though. The eyeshadows are great and blend really well! Some of them could be a bit more pigmented but a good eyelid primer helps. The second page has two glosses that I LOVE, three bronzers that are great for contouring. I’ve been using those and the blushes everyday. There are two blushes and I believe the little leopard square marbled one is a highlight, at least that’s what I have used it for. It’s a really pale shimmery pink. The blushes are super pigmented and you barely need any on your brush. These will last you a long time! Find it at NYX Cosmetics $25. I lucked out and scored mine off Amazon for $9.95 and free shipping! Make you a wish list and watch your items! 🙂

Pixi Concentrate Corrector in Brightening Peach
About $15. You can find this brand at Target. I have been using this under my eyes to cover dark circles. To cover the bluish tones under the eyes, you really need a corrector that is a peachy salmon color. I want to try the Eve Pearl salmon concealer but it is double the price of this. So, I’m testing this one first and waiting to find a good deal on the other. So far it’s working really well. I use it after my moisturizer then apply my foundation and then a light concealer (Maybelline one pictured).

Maybelline Fit Concealer
This is a liquid concealer that uses a wand/sponge applicator like you would see on a gloss. It covers redness really well and blends into the skin well. I like how it brightens under my eyes a bit more after I’ve applied everything else. About $6 and you can find it at most drugstores and Walmart.

Revlon Colorstay Foundation
Where oh where have you been all my life? This foundation is amazing! It is a thicker consistency and a little goes a long way but the coverage is awesome. It is full coverage, so if you don’t like that it may not be for you. Now, it is also a pretty matte finish, so if you have dry skin like me you can mix this with a bit of another foundation that has a more dewy finish, like the Neutrogena Healthy Skin. That is what I do and it comes out to be the perfect combination. This stuff lasts ALL DAY. When I wash my face at night and splash the water all over it, it still doesn’t run or start to come off. It doesn’t budge until I use my cleanser. I got mine at Walmart for about $10.

Beauty Blender
If you have me on Facebook you’ve seen me posting about this. I’m in love. It gives you the most flawless application of your foundation and even blotting in your concealer. Yes it is a pricey little sponge but it is worth every penny. Yes, it is a pain to wash it out after each time you use it but again, worth it. Definitely use it as directed by getting it wet and then squeezing all excess water out. Now, go buy you one of these babies! Amazon $13.54

Corn Huskers Lotion
I use this stuff every night now that it has cooled off. My hands have started to get dry and I am really weird about lotion. I hate how greasy some can be and that they don’t seem to soak into the skin. Especially for me, with my sweaty hands. Lotion and sweaty hands just does not mix. This stuff though… Love it. It soaks right into my skin leaving them feeling super soft and doesn’t burn when they’re really dry. It also smells so yummy. It almost has a baby powder smell. Really fresh and clean. We got ours at Walmart years ago and still have this bottle. I found it the other day while cleaning out the bathroom and its been sitting beside my bed ever since. Amazon has it listed for $3.87 and Walgreens for $2.89. I believe it’s also available at CVS. I’m sure prices will vary.
